Forbidden Lore (Straasha)

Straasha Bloodwater was a great hero from the High Places during the Time of Heroes. It was he that crafted the great scythe Woe Father in the forges of Crinna. It was he that slew Orm the Strong at the battle of Five Towns, strangling him with his bare hands as the city burned around them. He was taught the sorcerous arts by the crone Yagba, sacrificing his own brother for the privilage to sit at her feet. He carved a great kingdom for himself in the mountains, taming the Yeti and winning the loyalty of the Kang. It was said that he did battle with the spirits iof the Oceans themselves, wrestling the King of the Water to the ground and winning his loyalty. Surely, he was a gifted sailor and raider, and for the length of his reign his red-masted ships braved the Sea of Storms and never fell to ill weather. He raided lands as far away as the House of Three Treasures, and his longboats travelled through the rivers of the Bloodlands with a supernatural speed. When he was finally slain by the hero Brina the Dragon-Slayer, his followers deified him and established a cult in his honor. The Cult of Straasha teaches what secrets of Yagba their master saw fit to teach, plus several darker secrets of their master's own design.

Rank 1 Ability

Straasha valued his word above all else, and when he swore to do something he did it regardless of the cost. The cult uses their initaition ritual to carve a rune into the initiate's chest that binds him to his word, so that he might not profane the memory of their master. Whenever you break your word (either purposefully or unintentionally), you become sickened for 24 hours or until you meet your obligation, whichever comes first. However, once per day, you can make a vow to yourself that grants a +4 morale bonus on any one roll you make while trying to fulfill a promise made to another individual.

Rank 4 Ability

You receive a +4 bonus to your Combat Maneuver Defense against bull rush, grapple, and trip attempts.

Rank 6 Ability

Once per day, as an immediate action, whenever you fail a saving throw that causes you to become blinded, deafened, frightened, panicked, paralyzed, shaken, or stunned, you may attempt that saving throw again, with a +4 insight bonus on the roll. You must take the second result, even if it is worse.

Rank 8 Ability

Select one type of combat maneuver. When performing the selected maneuver, you treat your oracle level as your base attack bonus when determining your Combat Manuver Bonus.

Rank 10 Ability

You can walk on water as if it were a solid surface. You can move across this surface at your normal land speed. While this ability is in effect, you can instead go underwater, gaining a swim speed of 60 feet and the ability to breathe water. You can use this ability for 1 hour per day per oracle level. This duration does not need to be consecutive, but it must be spent in 1-hour increments.
