This skill represents your training in one of several different martial arts designed around individual combat.

Rank 3 Ability

You may enter a defensive stance, granting you bonuses to your parry attempts.

Base DC: 15

Success: You may add your base attack bonus to your parry attempts against a single opponent of your choice. If that opponent ever deals damage to you, you lose the bonus granted by this skill. For every 10 points your skill check exceeded the DC, the bonus increases by +1.

Failure: You gain no bonus to your parry attempts. If you fail the check by more than 5, you suffer a -2 to your parry attempts for the remainder of the round.

Rank 4 Ability

If you attack a flat-footed opponent immediately after drawing a melee weapon, you can deal extra damage, based on the result of this skill check. With a successful skill check, you can add +1d6 to your damage roll.

Base DC: 10

Success: You deal an additional +1d6 damage with this attack against a flat-footed opponent. For every every 5 points your skill check exceeds the DC, add an additional +1d6.

Failure: You gain no additional damage.

Rank 5 Ability

You may enter an aggressive combat stance. On a successful skill check, you gain a bonus to all your damage rolls this round.

Base DC: 15

Success: You may your base attack bonus to all damage rolls against a single target for the remainder of the round. Until your next initiative segment, you are considered flat-footed against incoming attacks and may not parry. For every 5 points your skill check exceeds the DC, the damage bonus increases by +1.

Rank 6 Ability

On a successful skill check you locate a weak point in your enemy's defenses. If the check is successful, you may make your next attack against the chosen opponent as a touch attack. You have to make the attack no later than your next turn, however. Your enemy must be within 30 feet in the case of a ranged attack, otherwise you gain no benefit.

Base DC: Your opponent's Defense.

Success: You may make your next attack against the chosen opponent as a touch attack.

Failure: You must attack as normal. If you fail the check by more than 5, you suffer a -3 penalty to attack rolls against this opponent this round.
