Weapon Proficiency (Bows)


This skill measures your aptitude with all weapons with the "bow" quality.

Rank 1 Ability

You make attack rolls with any weapon with the "bow" quality normally.

Rank 2 Ability

When wielding a bow, you gain a competence bonus on attack rolls equal to half your ranks in this skill.

Rank 5 Ability

You add half your Dexterity modifier to your damage roll when making attacks with a bow.

Rank 7 Ability

Bows you use have the Heavy Critical property.

Rank 9 Ability

As a standard action, you may make a single precisely aimed attack with a bow, dealing +1d8 points of precision damage if the attack hits. You must be within 30 feet of your target to make this attack. This attack only works against living creatures with discernible anatomies. Any creature that is immune to critical hits (including undead, constructs, oozes, plants, and incorporeal creatures) is not vulnerable this attack, and any item or ability that protects a creature from critical hits also protects a creature from the extra damage.

Rank 10 Ability

Bows you wield have the Forceful property.

Rank 12 Ability

Any time you fire a projectile weapon in an area with at least 40 feet of clearance between your position and the ceiling (or any other overhead obstruction, such as a forest canopy), your maximum range with the projectile weapon is fifteen range increments rather than the normal ten range increments.
